Roy Jarvis, a qualified mechanical engineer and devout motor-rallying competitor, founded Ralloy Engineering Limited in 1988.

Following training served in all engineering skills with the Vickers Engineering organisation, Roy branched out on his own and began specialising in converting standard cars, from basic shell upwards, to full rally specification. Though gaining experience on a wide variety of vehicle conversions, Roy developed a particular speciality in the conversion of Ford Escort MkI’s and MkII’s to various levels of rally specification with, over the years, many cars completed by him to full Group 4 specification and beyond. Roy’s expertise and drive for engineering excellence is the backbone of Ralloy Engineering; the Company now employing three full time engineers, experts in their own right in rally vehicle conversion and fabrication of competition components

The success of any rallycar is highly dependant on the reliability and performance of all of its sub-components and piece parts. Though now a venerable vehicle, Ralloy prepared Escorts have been and continue to be used at the highest levels of competition by some of the fastest exponents of the rally driving art. Over a period of some 20 years involvement in competition at these levels, Ralloy has constantly developed the performance and reliability of every aspect of primarily Escort MkII Group 4 chassis and shell conversions. A spin-off to this fabricated component development, for its own conversions, is Ralloy’s long-term involvement in the production of those same high-quality, tested component parts (mainly fabricated components) to other car preparers, whether private individuals or other specialist companies.

Currently in the UK and other parts of Europe there is a revival in events and series competitions for ‘classic’ rallycars. It is therefore beyond doubt that the venerable, tough and capable Escort MkII will continue to be used in anger. Ralloy, therefore, with its unique experience, is ideally placed to meet the requirements of all ‘classic’ rally Escort runners.
Ralloy Engineering Limited is today sited its own, purpose-built production facilities at Sheriff Hutton in North Yorkshire (UK). The company carries a comprehensive stock of all its catalogued parts and is constantly developing and introducing new tried-and-tested items.
